dc.description.abstract | A charged particle constrained to move in two dimensions in the presence of a perpendicular magnetic field has a discrete energy spectrum. Observed from a moving frame, however, the spectrum is continuous. We show that emission and absorption of photons differ in both frames by a Doppler shift only and that the allowed frequencies are grouped in bands of width proportional to the Compton wavelength. | |
