Abstract
H. psammobatidus sp. nov. is described from a skate, P. lima, taken in Chile. This nematode is distingusihed from its closest relatives in the genus (H. heliconema, H. brevispiculum) by the number of tesellated longitudinal ridges in the male (14, as opposed to 20), the spicule ratio (1:4.2, as opposed to 1:20 or 1:2.4), and the protruding conical vulva of the female.
