A theoretical study of the light propagation in multilayered insulating structures as a function of the angle of incidence is Performed. Ordered, quasiperiodic and random sequences are discussed. The transmission coefficient exhibits a rich structure of peaks and gaps. In the case of a (quasiperiodic) Fibonacci sequence a selfsimilar behavior for the transmission coefficient is obtained. Results for the electromagnetic energy density inside the sample are presented. We show that the angle of incidence is an ideal experimental variable to study these structures.
