dc.description.abstractThis is the second paper in a series about the Project Management (PM) in the chilean construction industry, even though many of the concepts discharges here are extrapolated to the reality of other countries. The basis of the proposed Project Management in the construction industry was presented by the authors in the previous paper of this magazine. This article presents important aspects of the application of PM to the particularly case of real estate. This will review the current status of the Project Management of real estate projects in Chile, the coordination of real estate projects. Also, presents the life cycle of a building project to show the main aspects which need the PM assistance. The aspects to consider for a client to contract the services of an office of Project Management was presented. Furthermore, an example of how an PM office can offer their services was show. Finally delivered some factors for assessing the design and construction. According to presented it is concluded that the Project Management is necessary and applicable for the proper development of a real estate project.
