dc.description.abstractThe expansion of the metropolitan area of Santiago gives account of important economic and social transformations that the country in the last decades has lived. One of the manifestations of the overflowing of the city towards its area of influence been has related to the construction of houses in condominium directed to socioeconomic groups average and average stops, that migrate towards suburbs spaces in search of new residential spaces, greater size and immersed in a habitat opposed to the modernity of the metropolis. From the study of the cases of Pirque and Calera de Tango it is tried to describe and to analyze the occupation of the space of these communes by these projects of houses.
