ECHINOBOTHRIUM-EUZETI, A NEW CESTODE FROM THE SPIRAL VALVE OF A CHILEAN ELASMOBRANCH

dc.description.abstractE. euzeti sp. nov. is described from the skate Psammobatis lima (Poeppig, 1835) taken in coastal waters off Constitucion, Chile. The species is distinguished from others in the genus by attaining a size of 5.5 cm, rostellar armature of 25 large hooks flanked by 6-7 hooklets/side, 100-107 spines/row on the cephalic peduncle, 37-42 testes mature segment and smooth ovarian lobes. The new species is compared with E. longicolle Southwell 1925 and E. mathiasi Euzet, 1951.
