Abstract

All rights reserved. This paper analyses the Soviet Union’s scientific presence in Chile during the 1960s, specifically in the astronomy field, as part of the global Cold War. With this, we can present a key scientific development linked to the international scene, examined from the third world. We study the Soviet process through Chilean and US sources and reports, giving notice of information flows which articulate a much more complex structure than the traditional Cold War duality. This also allows us to observe the complexities of international relations throughout the scientific prism.
