Abstract
In this study I will explain those ideas that Domingo de Soto had to develope in order to sustain two conflicting thesis. First, that natural is rooted in the intrisic reality of created being and not in a merely extrinsic principle. Second, that its most fundamental contents are absolutely necessary, to the extent that not even God could dispense from its fulfillment. The difficulty of conciliating both thesis lies in the fact that created beings are contingent according to the christian doctrine of creatio ex nihilo and the freedom of God regarding his creatures. How is it possible that something absolute necessary could be rooted in somthing contingent?
