Larval cestodes identified as members of the genus Caulobothrium Baer 1948, were observed in the intestine of the Chilean clam Mesodesma donacium Lamarck. Several bat stingrays, Myliobatis chilensis Philippi, subsequently recovered in the same areas, were infected with a new species of tapeworm, C. myliobatidis, which is described. The probable life cycle of the parasite is discussed.
