Abstract
This thesis analyzes the tensions between mobility and immobility in access to healthcare in the Quinchao Archipelago, Chiloé, from a theoretical perspective grounded in the “mobility turn.” Through a qualitative and transdisciplinary approach, combining mobile ethnographies, in-depth interviews, and social mapping, it examines how territorial, institutional, and embodied dimensions shape situated practices of health-related (im)mobility. Based on this case, the thesis offers a critical and relational reading that enables understanding (im)mobilities as transversal processes that go beyond the health domain, opening broader reflections on inequality, care, and territorial justice in peripheral and archipelagic contexts.
