Abstract
The era of Artificial Intelligence (AI) is marking a new milestone in the history of knowledge production, writing and reading, and the creation of analog and digital artworks. Text and image generative systems based on algorithmic processes, deep learning, and large language models (LLM) raise concerns about the new forms of coexistence and communication between humans and machines in a critical moment of the Technocene (Flavia Costa), which urges us to rethink strategies for survival on Earth. Algorithmic operations and AI are a new pharmakon (Bernard Stiegler) with their toxic (entropic) and therapeutic (negentropic) effects in the context of planetary ecology (Katherine Hayles, Yuk Hui, James Bridle). This work, after introducing some key aspects of algorithmic culture in the AI era, focuses on analysing two artistic projects: Demian Schopf's M & aacute;quina C & oacute;ndor and Sofia Crespo's AI works. Both projects, under different parameters, address the current noopolitical challenge from the perspective of artificial imagination. (Translation by ChatGPT 3.5)
