Abstract
An expedition to Chile and Argentina was made with the main purpose of collecting representative samples of the genetic variability of the species Hordeum chilense Roem. et Schult. During the held trips 55 populations of H. chilense and 45 populations of other Hordeum species were collected. The habitats where the species were growing were analyzed.
