Nimodipine is being used with increasing frequency in the prevention or treatment of vasospasm due to subarachoid hemorrhage. Few side effects have been described. An acute pseudo-obstruction of the colon (Ogilvie''s syndrome) in a patient treated with an intravenous infusion of nimodipine is reported. The possible relationship between this serious complication and the use of this drug is discussed.
