© 2021, AUS. All Rights Reserved.Urban reshaping is increasingly commonin cities. At present, different Latin American port cities are being subject to such interventions. The article explains the role of the coastal border in the rearrangement of downtown Rosario, Argentina. First, a discussion is shared about the concepts of redesign and urban neoliberalism, to then introduce the spatial layout of port cities. Subsequently, the text describes the redesign of downtown Rosario,with findings pointing to the main projects linked with the coastal border and its relevance in the rearrangement of the city’s downtown area
