    Educational Architecture and Standardization. Pragmatism and Normalization of Rural Schools in Chile (1929-1980)

    Throughout the 20th century, educational reforms in Chile and increased school enrollment drove the State to seek systems that would facilitate the expansion of educational infrastructure nationwide. This article delves into the standardization of rural schools. By examining this experience alongside modernist notions of “typology” and “standards,” it reveals the distinctive traits of a process that, over time and through various actors, showcased a range of approaches to functional, formal, and technical standardization.
