    Design of a supervisory predictive controller based on fuzzy models

    In this paper, a supervisory optimal control problem is presented. Fuzzy modelling is used to represent the non-linearity of the process and two alternative fuzzy predictors are described in order to solve the optimisation problem at the supervisory level. The proposed fuzzy predictive controllers are successfully applied to a benchmark problem.

    Economic Dispatch by Secondary Distributed Control in Microgrids

    This paper proposes a distributed controller in order to achieve the economic dispatch (ED) of a microgrid, which complies with the Karush-Kuhn-Tucker optimality conditions for a linear optimal power flow formulation. The consensus over the Lagrange multipliers allows an optimal dispatch without considering an electrical microgrid model, preserving the frequency and voltage restoration into the secondary control level for isolated microgrids.

    Economic dispatch for optimal management of isolated microgrids

    This work presents the modeling and simulation of the economic dispatch performed in a microgrid. A flexible algorithm is developed in order to get the optimal operation of a microgrid. The performed simulations use the load and generation profiles from an operative real microgrid. Due to this, the results are similar to the real operation of a microgrid. The performed simulations consider two types of topologies: a one node microgrid and radial multi-node microgrid. The battery storage model considers the efficiency coefficients for the charging and discharging and the auto-discharging coefficient. The multi-node model includes the maximum power flow constraints for the distribution lines, the formulation includes the estimation of power losses using DC power flow. The DC Power Flow is used to estimate the power losses in a multi-node microgrid, the results are compared with an AC Power flow. The economic dispatch is formulated as a mixed integer linear programming optimization problem.

    Prediction of water chemical properties in the cycle of a coal power plant using artificial neural networks

    Describes a systematic methodology based on artificial neural networks for model identification and its application to the prediction of water chemical properties under normal operation conditions in a power plant. The model obtained allows detection of incipient anomalies by comparison between the real and predicted values.
