- ItemCloning, sequencing and expression of the cDNA of endoxylanase B from Penicillium purpurogenum(1997) Diaz, R; Sapag, A; Peirano, A; Steiner, J; Eyzaguirre, JThe cDNA, for xylanase B from Penicillium purpurogenum was cloned and sequenced. This DNA encodes a protein of 208 amino acids which is expected to yield a protein of 183 residues upon processing of the N terminus. The sequence of the predicted protein is very similar to that of 40 other xylanase domains which belong to family G of cellulases/xylanases (73-21% identity).
- ItemMetabolic modulation of acute myocardial infarction - The ECLA glucose-insulin-potassium pilot trial(LIPPINCOTT WILLIAMS & WILKINS, 1998) Diaz, R; Paolasso, A; Piegas, LS; Tajer, CD; Moreno, MG; Corvalan, R; Isea, JE; Romero, GBackground-Several trials have been performed in the past using glucose, insulin, and potassium infusion (GIK) for the treatment of acute myocardial infarction (AMI). Because of continuing uncertainty about the potential role of this therapeutic intervention, we conducted a randomized trial to evaluate the impact of a GIK solution during the first hours of AMI,
- ItemVariation in patient management and outcomes for acute coronary syndromes in Latin America and North America(2001) Cohen, MG; Pacchiana, CM; Corbalán, R; Perez, JEI; Ponte, CI; Oropeza, ES; Diaz, R; Paolasso, E; Izasa, D; Rodas, MA; Urrutia, CE; Harrington, RA; Topol, EJ; Califf, RMBackground Although more than 9500 patients have been enrolled in molar clinical trials in Latin America, practice patterns in this region have rarely been examined. We sought to compare characteristics, resource utilization, and outcomes of patients treated For acute coronary syndromes in Latin America with those in North America.
