The appearance of the women’s freestyle tournament, Suyai Free, offers suggestive background on this phenomenon. The space emerged to provide a development opportunity for female rappers in the face of exclusion and gender barriers prevalent in the local rap battle circuit. Suyai Free also distinguishes itself by promoting respect by eradicating sexist and misogynistic rhymes from verbal duels, horizontality in social relationships, and ensuring the well-being of its participants such as supporting those who are mothers. The organizers of this freestyle tournament promote a community event among women, but at the same time, it includes other social identities.
